About PawListed
Most pet advice online sits at one of two extremes: thin articles written to fill a search result, or genuinely expert information locked behind an appointment. PawListed aims at the gap in between — the practical, specific stuff a reasonable owner wants to know before they call the vet, book a groomer, or spend $200 on something they've never bought.
Who writes this
PawListed is written and edited by long-time dog and cat owners. We are not veterinarians, veterinary technicians, groomers, or trainers — and you should know that before you weigh anything here against professional advice. What we bring is years of living with pets, a low tolerance for vague answers, and a research process we're willing to show you.
Guides are published under the PawListed Editors byline because they're a product of that shared editorial process rather than a single named expert. We'd rather be accurate about that than attach a credential we haven't earned.
How the guides get made
Every guide starts from a problem a real owner is trying to solve, then draws on manufacturer specifications, published veterinary and professional-training resources, and the aggregated published experience of other owners. Where a category carries real safety implications — grooming tools, anything ingestible, restraint equipment — we weigh safety design over price or popularity. What we don't do
We don't diagnose, and nothing on this site is veterinary advice. Pet health is genuinely individual — breed, age, weight, history and medications all change the right answer, and none of that is visible to us. If your animal is unwell, injured, or behaving in a way that worries you, talk to a vet. Our emergency vet guide is about recognising when that call can't wait; it isn't a substitute for making it.
We also don't publish prices. Amazon's pricing changes constantly and its terms don't allow third-party sites to cache it, so every product link sends you to the live listing instead.
How the site makes money

That costs you nothing extra and has no bearing on what we recommend or how we rank it. No manufacturer or retailer can pay to be included, reviewed favourably, or placed higher. If something here is wrong, out of date, or a product has been discontinued or recalled, we want to hear about it — that's the fastest way this site gets better.
